Dear Parents and Guardians,
I waited until today to send our Warrior so that I could include information about us watching the solar eclipse together this coming Monday (4/8)
I have a few details but first I want to thank Mrs. Gaylets
For those of you who have responded that you are coming to join us: please be here between 3:00 and 3:15 p.m. One of us will guide you to a parking space along the field. You will be asked to park head-on the field, license plates facing the school. When you exit your vehicle please go to your assigned staff person. I will send you an email later today, with your staff person’s name. I suggest older shoes due to the muddy ground. Feel free to bring a lawn chair or towel to sit on. The ground right now is soaking wet from the rain. Hopefully by Monday it will be a bit firmer.
Mrs. Gaylets and our middle school students will have learning stations set up for you to visit. We will also have eclipse glasses for you.
For students going home as usual (not staying for the after school event): those students will have eclipse glasses as well. We strongly encourage using them if you are watching from home as a family. We will be dismissing from the front door that day. Please use our usual process for picking up students.
For students staying behind for the event: We will have those students assigned to a staff member (with you). At the conclusion (approx. 4:30 p.m) we ask that you let your assigned staff person know that you are leaving with your child(ren). Tutoring students will be going outside with their tutoring teachers.
For all students for Monday: I am strongly recommending comfy, layered clothes (weather appropriate) and sneakers or boots. We will be outside for a larger portion of the solar eclipse.
I hope you all have a great rest of your week! Please reach out to me with any questions.
Miss Walsh
