The Weekly Warrior
November 3, 2026
Hello, Warrior Families!
November is here, and we have lots of exciting things happening at Fell and throughout our community! Please take a few minutes to review this week’s updates and mark your calendars.
Fire Prevention Assembly – Wednesday, November 4
We are excited to welcome members of Grattan-Singer Hose Company No. 1 to Fell on Wednesday afternoon! They will be bringing their fire trucks and presenting a fire prevention and safety lesson for our students. We appreciate our local firefighters taking the time to help keep our students safe and informed!
Safe2Say Something Presentation – Thursday, November 5
On Thursday, representatives from Safe2Say Something will be visiting Fell to speak with our students in grades 5–8. The presentation will help students understand how to recognize and report safety concerns and how they can help keep their school community safe.
November Art Club
Our November Art Club dates are Thursday, November 5, and Thursday, November 12.
This month’s project will be a hand-sewing activity using plastic needles. Students who finish early will have the option to create a 3D ocean scene.
A reminder that students are expected to participate in the activity and demonstrate appropriate classroom behavior. If a student is not participating or is having difficulty following expectations, parents may be contacted.
If you are able to display a sign in your car during pickup, it would be very helpful!

Tutoring Has Begun!
Tutoring for Semester 1 began this week! This year, tutoring is initially being offered to students who were invited to participate based on their academic needs.
As in previous years, tutoring will open up to additional students in February. Ms. Gunshannon will share more information as we get closer to that time.
New Fell Charter SWAG Store!
Our online school store is officially up and running! You can now shop for Fell Charter gear through our Fell Charter School Store.
Discounted items will also continue to be available at school while supplies last. Happy shopping, Warriors!
Veterans Day Assembly – Community Invitation
Fell Charter School invites veterans in our community to join us for our Veterans Day student assembly as we honor their service and help our students learn about those who have served our country.
If you are a veteran and would like to attend, please RSVP to cmonforte@fellcharter.com by November 9. Please include your name, military rank, and branch of service. You are also welcome to share where and when you served.
We would love to have you join us!
Preparing for Virtual Learning Days
As we head into the winter months, information about our procedures for virtual learning days due to inclement weather will be coming home soon.
A few important reminders:
- Attendance will be taken on virtual learning days. Attendance may depend on students completing and submitting assigned work, so please review the information that will be sent home.
- Make sure you are signed up to receive school messages through Remind.
- Check local news stations, including 28/22 News and WNEP, for school closings and delays.
Please remember that decisions to close school are always made with the safety of our students and staff as the top priority.
Attendance Matters: Every School Day Counts!
One of our goals through our Title I program is to reduce chronic absenteeism at Fell Charter School. We are working to increase the percentage of students who attend school regularly from 77.7% to at least 85% by June 2029. We need your help to reach this goal!
We understand that illnesses happen, and we certainly want children to stay home when they are sick. However, we ask that families make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences, including taking students out of school for vacations whenever possible.
Missing school means missing important instruction, classroom discussions, activities, and opportunities to practice new skills. Even when students complete missed assignments, it can be difficult to make up everything they have missed.
Frequent absences also affect the classroom as a whole. Teachers must find time to help students catch up while continuing to teach the rest of the class. This creates additional demands on teachers and can interrupt the learning process for everyone.
Every school day matters, and every day missed adds up. Thank you for making regular attendance a priority and partnering with us to help every Warrior succeed!
