Fell Charter School

Weekly Warrior 9/15/2026

Dear Fell Families,

We have a busy and exciting week ahead at Fell! Here are a few important updates and reminders for our families.

🍎 Lunch & Recess Schedule Change

In response to feedback from both parents and teachers, we have decided to switch the lunch and recess schedule for grades K–5 back to last year’s schedule.

Beginning this week:

  • Grades K–2: Lunch at 10:40 AM, followed by recess at 11:10 AM
  • Grades 3–5: Recess at 10:40 AM, followed by lunch at 11:10 AM
  • Middle School: No change to the current lunch/recess schedule

If you need help getting set up in the EZ School system to pre-order lunches for your child, please reach out to Mrs. Timlin at ctimlin@fellcharter.com.

🏫 Back to School Night — Thursday, September 17

We are looking forward to seeing our families at Back to School Night this Thursday from 6:00–7:00 PM!

Please arrive at 6:00 PM, as we will end promptly at 7:00 PM.

Back to School Night is an opportunity for parents to learn more about their child’s classroom, routines, expectations, and the year ahead. It is not a time for individual parent-teacher conferences. Our first Parent-Teacher Conference Day will be Thursday, October 15, and sign-up information will be coming home shortly.

In the meantime, parents can always check their child’s progress through the Parent Portal. Directions for signing up for the Parent Portal were sent home with students yesterday. If you need assistance getting your account set up, we will have someone available to help in the cafeteria during Back to School Night.

There will also be several other things happening that evening:

  • 📚 Scholastic Book Fair in the gym
  • 👕 Fell Swag available for purchase
  • 🪀 NED Show yo-yos available for purchase
  • 🥕 Information and sign-up for the Children’s Produce Market/Mobile Pantry and Backpack Program in the cafeteria with Mrs. Timlin

We hope you can join us!

🎂 Birthday Celebrations at Fell

We love celebrating our students and making them feel special on their birthdays! At the same time, we need to make sure that birthday celebrations are safe for all of our students, including those with food allergies.

Please remember that food treats may not be sent into school without prior approval from the classroom teacher. If an edible treat is approved, it must be store-bought and have a complete ingredient list so that we can check it for potential allergens.

If your child would like to share something edible with classmates, we would prefer something that can be sent home with students rather than eaten at school. Even better, consider a non-food way to celebrate! Stickers, pencils, bookmarks, or another small item can be a fun way to make a birthday feel special without creating a food-allergy concern.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe while still making birthdays a happy part of the school year!

🎨 Enrichment Classes Begin This Friday!

Our Spanish and Art enrichment classes begin this Friday, September 18!

We are excited to offer these opportunities to our students and can’t wait to see what they create and learn this year.

🪀 NED’s Mindset Mission Is Coming to Fell!

This Thursday morning, our students will welcome NED’s Mindset Mission for a fun-filled assembly featuring storytelling, humor, illusions, and some amazing yo-yo tricks!

NED’s message is all about developing a positive mindset:

N — Never give up
Understand the Power of YET

E — Encourage others
Spark courage in other people

D — Do your best
Always be learning and growing

The students will see how learning to yo-yo connects to these ideas. Yo-yoing takes practice, mistakes, persistence, and a willingness to try again — exactly the kind of mindset we want to encourage in our students!

Our school received this assembly at no cost because another school paid it forward to us. We would love to do the same for another school in the future, and families can help by purchasing a NED yo-yo or other NED merchandise.

Yo-yos and accessories will be available for purchase at Back to School Night. We will also have information about the different yo-yos available and how they can help students learn basic and more advanced tricks.

🌸 Blueberry Hill Mumraiser

Don’t forget about our Blueberry Hill Mumraiser! This is a great way to support Fell while adding some beautiful fall color to your home.

Orders are due September 30.

More information and the order form are attached to this week’s Weekly Warrior email.

📚 Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the gym for Back to School Night. Stop by and let your child pick out something new to read!

We hope to see everyone Thursday evening!

As always, thank you for your continued support of Fell Charter School. We are off to a great start, and we are looking forward to another wonderful week with our Warriors!
