To help prevent tick-born diseases Fell Charter School will educate students on tick identification, tick bite prevention and actions to take if you are bitten by a tick. The school nurse may remove a tick that is embedded on a student following Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines (PA DOH). A parent/guardian will be notified and given follow up instructions. The most dangerous tick is the one you don’t see. If your child develops flu like symptoms and/or a rash after being in or near wooded areas, tall grasses, leaf piles or other places where ticks are active, please notify a healthcare provider. For more information about ticks please visit the PA DOH website.
