A charter school is a tuition-free public school.  Fell Charter is a “school of choice,” an alternative to the regular district schools.  Fell Charter operates under a charter granted by the PA Department of Education, and is required to meet the same standards as regular public schools.

Fell Charter School offers a longer school day, a longer school year, more intensive core classes, and a specialized rigorous curriculum. For a more detailed answer, please see Our School.

There is no cost to attend; Fell Charter School is a tuition-free public school.  Funding is provided by the PA Department of Education, as with any other public school.

Any student residing in Pennsylvania is eligible to attend Fell Charter School. Transportation is provided by a number of neighboring school districts, and students beyond those districts are still welcome, but must provide their own transportation.

Fell Charter School offers full-day kindergarten through 8th grade.

Class sizes are limited to 25 students.

Several neighboring school districts provide transportation to and from Fell Charter School. They are:

  • Carbondale Area School District
  • Forest City School District
  • Lakeland School District
  • Mid Valley School District
  • Mountain View School District
  • Valley View School District
  • Wayne Highlands School District
  • Western Wayne School District

Students whose district of residence does not provide busing are still welcome at Fell Charter, but must arrange for their own transportation.

No. Fell Charter School offers in-person classroom instruction for its students. The only exception is during snow days, or other emergency situations, when virtual instruction may be offered temporarily.

Uniforms are not required at Fell Charter, although the school does have a student dress code; please see our Student Handbook for details.

Fell Charter School has a longer school day: class begins promptly at 7:45 am, and the school day ends at 3:15 pm.
